AN ORDINANCE REGARDING CURBS AND GUTTERING.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MEADE, KANSAS.
CURBS AND GUTTERS.
Section 1. All curbs and gutters hereafter voluntarily constructed
by the abutting property owner within the City of Meade, shall be
built according to the plans and specifications for curbs and
gutters on file with the City
BUILT ON GRADE
Section 2. Said curbs and gutters shall be built on the curb line as
shown on the said plans and according to the grade established by
the said city, said grades to be furnished by the city engineer.
CITY ENGINEER TO SUPERVISE.
Section 3. All curbs and gutters shall be built under the direction
and control of the said city engineer and payment for the same shall
not be due until the same has been inspected and approved by said
Section 4. Before any person, firm or corporation shall be permitted
to construct any curbs or gutters, such person, firm or corporation
shall furnish a bond in the sum of five hundred dollars which bond
shall be approved by the mayor and shall provide that such person,
firm or corporation shall construct said curbs and guttering in
accordance with the ordinances of said city; shall conform to the
directions of said city engineer, and shall keep any and all curbs
and gutters constructed by them in good repair at their own expense
for a period of three years from the completion and acceptance of
said work by the said city engineer; such bond shall be for the
benefit of said city and of all persons for whom curb and guttering
shall be constructed by the principal in said bond and action may be
brought on said bond either by said city or by any person for whom
curbs and guttering may be so constructed. Said bond shall be
Section 5. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the
provisions of this ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine not exceeding one
hundred dollars. TAKE EFFECT.
Section 6. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and
after its publication in the Meade Globe News.
