AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO THE CITY OF MEADE 922 WEST CARTHAGE,
MEADE, KANSAS, PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 12-520(a) AND 12-520(a) (7)
Be it ordained by the governing Body of the City of Meade, Meade
Section 1. The real property, commonly known as the Alco
Property, with a street address of 922 West Carthage, with a
legal description of:
A PARCEL OF LAND LOCATED IN THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 3,
TOWNSHIP 32 SOUTH, RANGE 28 WEST OF THE SIXTH P.M., IN MEADE
COUNTY, KANSAS, BEING FURTHER DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS; COMMENCING
AT THE SOUTH ONE-QUARTER CORNER OF SECTION 3, T32S, R28W, THENSE
S89°52’01”E (AN ASSUMED BEARING) ON THE SOUTH LINE OF THE
SOUTHEAST QUARTER FOR A DISTANCE OF 61.37 FEET TO A POINT ON THE
NORTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF HIGHWAY #54, SAID POINT BEING;
THENSE CONTINUING N00°15’00”W FOR A DISTANCE OF 375.00 FEET;
THENSE S89°50’03”E FOR A DISTANCE OF 250.00 FEET; THENSE
S00°15’00”E FPR A DOSTAMCE PF 375/00 FEET TO A POINT ON
NORTHERLY RIGHT OF WAY LINE OF US HIGHWAY #54; THENSE
N89°50’03”W ON SAID RIGHT OF WAY LINE FOR A DISTANCE OF 250.00
FEET TO THE POINT OF BEGINNING;
Hereby referred to as the “real property”, is owned by Horizon
Section 2. The Written Consent and Petition to the annexation
was filed with the Clerk of the City of Meade by Horizon
Development, LC, shall hereby be approved by the City.
Section 3. The real property adjoins the City of Meade.
Section 4. Having met the requirements for annexation pursuant
to K.S.A. 12-250 (a) and K.S.A. 12-520 (a)(7), the real property
shall be annexed to the City of Meade.
Section 5. Publication. After its passage and approval by the
City Council, this Ordinance shall be published once in the
Meade County News, the official city newspaper.
Section 6. Effective Date. This Ordinance shall take effect
immediately from and after its passage and publication. It is
accordingly so ordained.
