ORDINANCE NO. 817

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 796 PROHIBITING PACKAGED LIQUOR SALES WITHIN THE CITY OF MEADE, KANSAS.

WHEREAS, Ordinance 796, which expressly prohibited packaged liquor sales within the corporate limits of the City of Meade, Kansas, was passed by vote of the Governing Body and approved on November 14, 2005 and published November 16, 2005.

WHEREAS, the Governing Body of the City of Meade, Kansas, desires to repeal such ordinance, thereby allowing packaged liquor sales within the corporate limits of the City of Meade, Kansas.

NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Governing Body of the City of Meade, Kansas:

Section One. In accordance with K.S.A. 41-301, the Governing Body of the City of Meade has voted to repeal Ordinance 796.

Section Two. In repealing said ordinance, the Governing Body has voted to allow packaged liquor sales within the corporate limits of the City of Meade, Kansas, in accordance with the days and hours prescribed by law in K.S.A. 41-712.

Section Three. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper, and shall remain in force subject to change resulting from an election to change the status of packaged liquor sales in the City of Meade, Kansas, as provided in K.S.A. 41-301.
