ORDINANCE NO 837

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING LAND TO THE CITY OF MEADE, KANSAS.

                WHEREAS, a written Petition for or consent to annexation is on file with the City of Meade, Kansas, by the owner of the following described tract of real estate located in Meade County, Kansas, to-wit:

WHEREAS, the City of Meade, Kansas will consider the Meade City Airport property,  legally described as a parcel of land in the Northwest Quarter (NW1/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28), West of the 6th P.M;

And

A tract of land located in the North Half of the Northeast Quarter (N/2 NE/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, more particularly described as beginning at the Southwest corner of said N/2 NE/4, thence North Eighty (80) Feet, thence East Five Hundred Ninety-five (595) Feet parallel with the East-West center line of Northeast Quarter (NE/4), thence South Eighty (80) Feet, thence West Five Hundred Ninety-five (595) Feet along the East-West center line of said Northeast Quarter (NE/4), to the place of beginning;

And

A tract of land in the West Half of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter (W/2 of NE/4 of SW/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) West of the 6th P.M.,  more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the North line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10 which is 100 feet East of the Northwest corner of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10, thence South along a line parallel to the West line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10 for a distance of 1,200 feet, thence East along a line parallel to the North line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10 for a distance of 300 feet, thence North along a line parallel to the West line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10 for a distance of 1,200 feet, and to the North line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10, thence West along the North line of said NE/4 of SW/4 of Section 10 a distance of 300 feet to the point of beginning, (containing 8.264 acres more or less);

And

Beginning at the Northwest corner of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) West of the 6th P.M., thence East seven hundred fifty (750) feet, thence South parallel to the West section line of the aforesaid Section Ten (10) a distance of seven hundred ten (710) feet, thence West parallel to the North section line of the aforesaid Section Ten (10) a distance of seven hundred fifty (750) feet to the West section line of the aforesaid Section Ten (10), thence North along the West section line of the aforesaid Section Ten (10) a distance of seven hundred ten (710) feet to the point of beginning;

 And

A parcel of land located in the Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) West of the 6th P.M., Meade County, Kansas, more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10); thence South 0ᴼ4308 West, along the east line of said Southwest Quarter (SW/4) a distance of 2,648.88 feet to the southeast corner of said Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10); thence South 89ᴼ5300 West, along the south line of said Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10), a distance of 1,187.39 feet; thence North 0ᴼ0220 East, a distance of 1,452.09 feet; thence South 89ᴼ5710 East, a distance of 300.00 feet; thence North 0ᴼ0220 East, a distance of 1,200.00 feet to the north line of said Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10); thence South 89ᴼ5710 East, along said north line of the Southwest Quarter (SW/4) of Section Ten (10), a distance of 918.82 feet to the point of beginning; containing 65.0 acres more or less, subject to all rights of way and easements of record.

Requesting that the above described tracts of land be annexed to the City of Meade, Kansas, pursuant to K.S.A. 12-250 (a) (7).

                NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF MEADE, KANSAS:

                Section 1.  That the following described tracts of real estate, all of which is situated in Meade County, Kansas, to-wit:

 

A tract of land located in the North Half of the Northeast Quarter (N/2 NE/4) of Section Ten (10), Township Thirty-two (32) South, Range Twenty-eight (28) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian, more particularly described as beginning at the Southwest corner of said N/2 NE/4, thence North Eighty (80) Feet, thence East Five Hundred Ninety-five (595) Feet parallel with the East-West center line of Northeast Quarter (NE/4), thence South Eighty (80) Feet, thence West Five Hundred Ninety-five (595) Feet along the East-West center line of said Northeast Quarter (NE/4), to the place of beginning;

Which adjoins the City of Meade, Kansas, be annexed to the City of Meade, Kansas, pursuant to K.S.A. 12-250 (a) (7).

                Section 2.  That the above described tracts of annexed real estate shall, upon filing in the offices of the County Clerk and Register of Deeds, be designated thereafter as I-2 Heavy Industrial District.

                Section 3.  That the Clerk of the City of Meade, Kansas shall file a certified copy of this Ordinance from and after the time it becomes effective, in the offices of the County Clerk and Register of Deeds of Meade County, Kansas.

                Section 4.  That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, approval and publication in the official city newspaper.
